I agree with Amphiprion that Xenia does seem to better in water with a lil bit of nutrient content in the water. They also like a bit of flow over them too.

i do a water chnge once a week, not alot just about a gallon or two and i feed the fish every night but the food doesnt even hit the bottom. the fish eat it right up
you didnt happen to recently install a turf scrubber by chance?
don't think that is the problem being that you are still testing positive for nitrates, but once they hit zero with a scrubber the scrubber will out-compete the xenia and the xenia will die.

i use algeplex for marine alge causei ave a bad case of red slime alge do you think that is illing the nutriants in the water...here are a before and after photos they are about a month apart
I dont know how long it has been since moving/relocating, they dont look bad at all. To be honest, you first pic on the thread and first pic above does NOT seem to be FULLY open either.
How about leting them recoop on their own as long as it does not get any worse(falling apart/closing even further, getting smaller in appearances).
DONT DO anything major to the water nor moving them again at this point.

see when i say relocating i mean they did it themselves they started to attach themselves to the rocks and split away from the disc they were on...the thing im worried about is that they are not moving anymore meaing opening and closing like hands
