Some Close up Scorpion shots

ha. i used to have an emperor, but it died,...so i froze it for 8 months, then mounted it on my wall in a picture frame. Freeze larger insects for a long time because once they thaw out they will not rot due to the chrystalization of their organs. Then what you're left with is basically the exoskeleton. Pretty nifty if you enjoy mounting anything other than the small stuff.

man, if that is an emperor, stick a black light over that sucker, take a picture and post that, then people will see how cool they can be.

they are really rather nasty looking when they have babies though, looks like maggots all over their back, freaking hitchiking babies!

Nice macro shots! I've always wanted to get an Emperor Scorpion.

i think they are pretty. i had one that gave birth, the babies got loose in my friends apartment building lol. the emperor scorpion is actual quite docile and non aggressive. they get big too. i was scared when i first handled them but you get over it quickly. just pick them up by the stinger. very nice close up shots. i like the blacklight idea also. i would love to have them again, as well as a praying mantis.
