And a pic of the whole tank.A bit algae covered at the moment but the fish like to eat it so i think i may keep it like that. PLus i jsut removed all the half eaten java ferns(stupid mbuna!)

Nice tank too.
I was wondering whether the Empress is showing the horizontal bar all the time, or just when he’s a little upset, like when his picture is taken.

He used to show it all the time but now that i added the female(2 weeks ago) he has really colored up more and the bar is starting to become less noticable(more red on the sides is covering it up).

IN the pic the bar is more noticable then it is in real life.

im a big fan of the protomelas red empress and taiwan reef theirs colours always stand out in a display tank and they are simple to breed nice pics after a few spawns you will see a huge inprovment in his colour. mine coloured up in a week when i added 7 females in one go lol
