I went on a class trip with my son's 4th grade class today....to Mystic Aquarium in Conn. Not a really huge aquarium or anything...but a few interesting things and of course.....there's the fish...lol....

I have to appologize for the quality of the photos....there were so many more things I wanted to get pics of but I had 3 boys to keep an eye on...I had to snap these quickly........so much for light/appature/shutter speed settings...lol....I was lucky to get any at all !!

My favorites.....yellow headed jawfish ! I'd love a tank with just these in it !


A tank full of pirahnna...they were all just hanging there....waiting for something...lol..... and a familiar looking cichlid....


Some type of Gar I believe....I didn't even have a chance to look and see what types of fish I was taking pics of !! Beautiful colors and pattern on the fins !


A few tetras in a nicely setup planted....and some vampire tetras...very cool looking fish !


And....a pic for Morgurnda......


and one for the tank buster's crowd....an electric eel...I think, but not sure on that....dang...I hate it when I'm rushed and don't have time to really look...


My son was absolutely FASCINATED with the belugas....he wanted to take this fella home !
 
Very nice Emg. Thanks for sharing. We went to the aquarium in Houston on Wednesday and it was nice too. I didn't get any pics because the batteries in my camera went dead.:(
 
I wish we had a really big aquarium around here. Seattle aquarium isn't anything special. Actually point defiance zoo and aquarium is pretty good (for those that live in western Washington.) The aquarium in Vancouver BC is pretty good too. Myrtle Beach SC has a good one, but that's a long way from WA.

Pics look pretty good to me. Its hard to take pictures of fish.

My Father lives in Franklin, NC.....we may be going to see him in April....I plan on taking a trip to that big aquarium in Atlanta while we're down there ! Now THAT's An aquarium ! And I will take the time to get some decent pics when we go ! Can't wait ! (oh, I look forward to seeing my dad too ! :D )

Some nice pics. The Aubobon Aquarium of the Americas was great until it was wiped out by the hurricane. :( I have some pics of that I can post. Unfortunately most of my digital pics were lost in a drive crash a few months ago.
