Well the nassarius will stay buried in the sand..until you feed those carnivores you have and they sense food in the tank. Your tank is large enough to support a sandsifting star, how mature is it?

Well that is old enough, but now I've gone back to see what kind of wrasse you have and a lunar huh? I'm not feeling comfortable saying a starfish is OK. Try PMing ReefScape. He is a mod here, and on the team at WetWebMedia. He may have a suggestion for a sand stirrer.
Will do! I have asked alot on wetwebmedia as well....and that's where I got the "suggestion" which I previously wrote. I know the wrasse has a bad name but maybe I have the exception to the rule. Mine is not aggressive. I work from home most of the time so I get to watch him alot. The coral beauty is the trouble maker actually! I'm sure that natural instinct will take over after time but so far he swims around peacefully "watching" the outside world (ie, me, the cats, dogs etc...) I feed the tank 3 times a day and give the wrasse about 2-3 whole frill a day (so cool to see him smack the krill against the live rock to "kill" it before he eats). Anyway....I wonder if the aggresion is being subdied by keeping him fed well.
Anyone else with a lunare wrasse who acts "calmer"?

Yep, mine goes crazy around feeding time going into a feeding frenzy even with Nori, but has never chased anyone or nipped unless on accident when they swam right where the food he was going for. He definitely swims the entire tank, which I didn't realize he would do and definitely can't wait until I upgrade to a much larger tank (currently he's in a 75g). I really do no know where they get their reputation seeing as mine's not aggressive in the least. He did cause my 3 peppermint shrimp to go into permanent hiding as well as one anemone crab but he hasn't eaten any. I do keep my tank well fed.
That's awesome Mandy!! We should start a new club in the defense of the Moon Wrasse's bad reputation. I think it's a bunch of crock! lol
I think keeping them well fed and with a variety of foods helps though. I don't have any inverts but am "tempted" to try a few snails.....though I'd hate to think I was the cause of some poor creatures death on purpose! My wrasse also does the spastic dance when it's feeding time (kinda reminds me of one of my standard poodles when the tennis ball comes out! LOL). he seems to go into feedy frenzy but has never gone after another fish. The coral beauty however........Grrrrrr. I would scoop her out in a heartbeat but she had one fin when I bought her and she only has one eye (accident way before the wrasse joined the tank) so I don't think she'd bring much in the way of trade! LOL
Its actually a well founded, highly documented fact / stance on the lunar wrasse. It is very common for it to go for inverts and crustaceans..Just because somebody else's does not, does not mean the next one in line will not either...Fish "are" unpredictable...fact...
If you do decided to go for inverts, good luck, and feed the wrasse very well...
