Some updated pics of my Spiny Tailed Monitors

Sometimes it's not easy to tell from a distance. The male is a tad larger with a more robust head and neck. He also is missing the last 1/4 of his tail (I think it got nipped off while feeding when he was young). The female has darker eyes and more of a red coloring along her sides (her origins are from the red sand areas of the Aussie outback).

Oh I'll let you know. You'll be put on the waiting list. ;)

Very gorgeous little monitors!! I may buy when the babies hatch! They are too pretty to resist!

Thank you Seth. How fast do they grow? Seems to me that they grow kinda slow.

They're sexually mature at 10 months. They do grow pretty fast. They were only about 7" long when I bought them last year. They're definitely over twice that size now.

Well guys, bad news. After talking to my buddy who I purchased these two from and showing him the above photos, we have come to the conclusion that both my Ackies are females. If they were a true pair I would have seen eggs already. So it looks like I'm going to have to find a male. Oh well, it's better that than finding out they're both males.
