something I discovered about Nerites

I wasn't thinking about breeding.lol Too new at even the thought of having snails.
If I ever get any I would likely keepthem in fresh anyway. Not sure I could keep things in a marine tank alive!
If I EVER try marine it's got to be something easy and cheaper than those expensive fish.

I might have to set upa saltwater nano....just as a comparison thing. Maybe that'd be something interesting. compare how they do in saltwater as opposed to fresh?

Very few species I know of can actually live in both fresh and saltwater, and even then, individual populations of these snails are too well-adjusted to their environment to really give any fair comparison.

Breeding Nerites in a tanks is at this point as far as I have gathered darn near close to impossiable. There are a couple of people that have claimed they have done it but when pressed for details they can't give them or what they say can not be duplicated. Biggest problem in the volfger(?) stage, they require the smallest of food at this time and that is very hard to deliever in the amounts needed.
Way to blotch veliger.

Wilma Duncan breeds her own Olive nerites, have you tried contacting her? Other than that, most accounts I know of are either foreign or fly-by-night.

yeah, it'd probably be impossible to find any that were already used to saltwater. And if I did manage itit'd probably not be worth it to go through all that work.

You know what I mean.....not that the snails wouldn't be worth it. they WOULD be, but it's easier I'm sure to find the ones raised in fresh.

If that is the one they call snaillady from what I gathered there is even questions about if she has really bred them or not from what I have read. last time I went checking she had kind of dropped off the planet and wouldn't answer any of the questions about how she achieves it.
