Something is growing on my fish!

Ok, or at least I think it's growing. Check out these pics! He is going through some fin rot, but i'm treating him and have seen some regrowth this last week. Today after doing a 50% water change i saw this "cocoon" thick growth sticking out.

Ok, i know what you are thinking- it's a dead fin. BUT if you know the "anatomy" of a betta he has those two "hands" (i'm SO scientific i know) in front. Well Mab has both of his and this is growing on one of them!

i'm thinking it's not a dead fin also becaues it's brown and gnarly.

It appears to be betta poo. He may have been a bit constipated and it's coming out larger than normal. Mine get large poo like that if they've had frozen bloodworms for too many days in a row (too much protein).

I agree. Its just poo.

yep, you're betta's just got the anti-runs. try a change in diet to clear it up.

as everyone says, its your betta trying to poop, which i agree. that appears to be the area where a betta's anus is located as well.
