I have a 150 gal. with two O's ( a red and an albino ) a blood parrot, a green terror and a common pleco. I do 50% water changes every 10 days without fail. I run 3 filters: 2 marineland 350 cannisters( one on each end of the tank and a biowheel. I use an Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Freshwater Master test kit with parms: Am 0, Nitrite 0 and Nitrate 5ppm.
My red oscar is 9 months old, it hasn't eaten in 2 days. Since then it just stays at the bottom of the tank acting very lethargic. This is very unusual because it normally dominates the tank especially at feeding time ( pellets, flakes, occasionally cricketts from the pet store, never do I give them feeder fish or anything wild caught. ) There is no fungus or any unusual discolorations, its gills are not going in and out rapidly, I can't see anything wrong with it other than its behavior. Could it be a female ready to lay eggs? I don't know but I'm starting to get worried its my favorite fish I have.
