I have a brand spankin' new 75 gallon tank and I really want to try something different.

Im not sure what, but I've mostly done community tanks and have never had a tank this large.

Mabey an oddball or some larger or aggressive fish?

Help is appreciated! I cant wait to get this bad boy cycled!

While not original, bichirs sure are cool looking fish that are distinctly not your common community dweller. What are the dimensions on your tank? The Senegal gets to be around 12 inches. Anyway, a really cool fish!

What do YOU want to do? Aggressive? not really big enough. Trust me on that, been there done that. Unless you get a couple Dempseys or Green Terrors. But I would get 6 pictus cats and a top dwelling fish, maybe a needle fish. Not sure how those 2 species would get along. Shouldn't be a problem seeing as how they occupy differnet parts of the tank and they pretty much eat the same food. Whatever you do, do not get a pleco, not big enough.

in my 75 all i have are fish that eat other fish its good it kinda of a mix of oddball chiclids
iv got a juripari, gold and green sevrum a jeweld chiclid, and a lepord ctenopoma. they all get along great and they love it when i throw feeders in there. huge feeding frenzyoh ya i also have a african butterfly in there had two but one jumped ship and died.

you could try for a nice brackish tank like a puffer tank or a nice angle fish set up would look good.

:)

Lucky! I love Severums and cannot have them, so I guess that's what I'd suggest :)

HOw about a paladorium(sp?) or a turtle tank.

I'm fascinated by turtles, and I woudl certainly get one if I had room and a tank big enough!

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but could a wolffish fit in there? I do believe that size is alright for them so long as it's long.

Bichirs are also definatly cool fish. A peacock eel would be cool too. An african brown knife could go in there, just make sure you don't put any other electrical fish in with it. Having a brackish puffer tank would be cool too. African butterfly fish are also a cool looking top dwelling semi aggressive fish. :D I wish I had a 75 gal... oh the choices... have fun with whatever you decide on. :D

brackish would be cool. you could go with a dragon goby and some puffers.my favorites are the f8's since they dont need full salt when they grow up on the contrary to gsp's. at that size tank you can try archers but im really not sure how they would do with puffers. bumblebee gobies always attract attention.if you want to stay in fw you can always try some elephants or knives. try www.aqualandpetsplus.com they have a huge section on oddball fish. might find one you like. lots of pics
