so last night i went out (Prior to the WVU-Texas Tech game :) ), and went i returned home one of my clownfish had white dots all over him, they were just like tiny white dots, any way when i woke up this morning he was dead, what happened to him, and should i be worried about a diasease that is still in the tank.

thanks

If the white dots were like grains of salt it sounds like ICH. If so you should treat your tank. There is a good article on ICH and treatment in the article section.

The article, regretfully, won't be muchhelp. Marine ich has a very similar life cycle, but it is not the same parasite, and regretfully, requires different treatment.

Are there other fish in the tank? If not--keep it fish free for at least 6 weeks, raise the temp up to about 84. This forces the parasite to go through it's life cycle quicker, and without a fish host it can't complete and dies.

Another victim of ich. :( Read up on it, lots of good info out there. Plus, in the marine newbie forum, I had a post titled "Ich! Help!" where a lot of people had great input as to what to do.
