Something wrong with sarasa goldfish

Thank you very much for the help. I'll start treating her as soon as I can get home. can the medications needed be found at pet/fish specialty stores or do they need to be special ordered?

you should be able to find the tetracycline meds at any decent pet/fish store. the two that i linked two are the ones to look for. i think most people have neosporin at home already but if you don't you can get it at almost any drug store. Jungle Labs is a little harder to find but Petco and Petsmart carry it.
 
Thank you very much for your help. I have a Petco and a PetSmart near my house. I'll be sure to look there ASAP. I'm guessing that it would be a good idea for me to remove Amaterasu from her tank and thoroughly clean the tank before medicating it. does that sound like a good idea? and should I take out any decorations?
 
i think that would be a bad idea. completely cleaning the tank could cause cycling problems, which would stress the fish out even more and cause complications with treatment. just follow your normal cleaning routine. a larger water change would be fine, but don't start taking everything out or removing gravel etc.
 
actually she's alone in the tank and has been since we got her. Also I got out to the pet store, got the medicine for Amaterasu, and the medicated food. we also somehow got the neosporin on the open sores (she was none too happy about it though) so her water has been treated and here's to hoping for the best. hopefully she'll recover fully.
 
Quick question. I let the tank run a little bit and the water turned a little yellow-ish. I know on the package for the Maracyn-TC it says that it could discolor the water, but is a slight yellow tint too much? (Wondering because it was hard to measure out only half a packet of it and im hoping i didnt put too much in)
 
I think you should be fine, I used that and it will start to foam on the surface as well. Please keep us updated on your fishy :) I hope she comes out fine. Did you get any pictures?? I love pics :)
 
Working on getting pictures. She apparently doesnt like to be photographed. ^^; but ill try to get at least a few good photos.
