Soo's 1st reef 90G build

Great looking setup. I like the rockscaping.

What is the microbubble maker? Is it a return from skimmer?

Thanks for the kind words everyone! Much appreciated, it's been quite the journey so far... been making costly mistakes here and there *cough* eheim *cough* but will hopefully be adding a sump in the next few months. Rockwork took quite awhile, but glad it worked out.

I just call it the "microbubble maker"... yah, it's from the skimmer return. Been doing quite a bit of research via "google" and it seems to be a common problem. A few ideas out there that I will be trying this weekend. Seems like all my problems will be solved with a sump... lol

A superb reef in the making here...really impressive and the rock work, stock etc look excellent..Keep up the hard work and devotion, its really paying off for you...Look forward to seeing more updates as this progresses. I agree with Dustin, i would not worry too much about the leather, they do sometimes take a while to get settled in a new setup...

Thanks a lot! Means a lot coming from you... Leathers seem to be doing better today, but still trying to confirm if the other leather is a finger/devils hand. It's always a great feeling when corals look better in your display tank then the LFS' tank :)

Haven't posted in a little while, been pretty busy with the tank!

Tested results as of March 6, 2008
Nitrites 0
Nitrates 10
Ammonia 5
PH 8.33
Temp 77
CA 420
(waiting for my alkalinity test in the mail)

A great guy in my area who runs www.fragalot.ca, has some pretty colourful stuff! But does charge a premium for a pinch of his gorgeous collection.

Picked up these zoos:

Had a slight dusting of brown diatoms, so went out and bought 5 Nessarius and 5 Mexican Turbo Snails. Weird thing though, they've cleaned almost everything off... and I found a dead one today, he STUNK!

***Correct previous post Ammonia 0, not 5*** :)

A sump is definetely in the plans for the near future :)

I went a little crazy this weekend, all the LFS' around my area got shipments in and had great deals... bought a few beauties. Everyone's doing great except for the leathers... they were ALL nice and open with extended polyps, now all closed up... hope they're just shedding.

nice corals, i think iwould have had a bad case of wallet burning money if my LFS had some nice ones like that, and i don't have my tank setup yet!!!

What is this about micro bubbles? By the way everthing looks great!

Yah, there are a ton of great shops around my area ... four of which I visit quite regularly.

Woodright, been having a problem with microbubbles from my skimmer... waiting for a few supplies in the mail to hopefully fix the problem :)

Oh! Some Green Star Polyps as well... sorry, haven't taken an actinic "just waking up" pic yet.

Hope I didn't make a mistake buying this guy, i've heard a lot of people regret their decision cause of the fierce spreading.
