Hi all I am brand new to this forum. I was looking into buying a 75gallon fish tank for a reef tank eventually. I found a 2 year old used tank with stand and pumps and sump for $275.00 it sounds like a real bargain. I was wondering what you guys think of this. Does the drilled hole for the sump sound ok?) I am going to look at it tonight. here is the description:

2 Aquaclear 500s 1 pump (Quiet one 4000) 1 heater (Visi-therm 200W) 1 15G tank, I was using as a sump 1 75G tank (drilled in back left corner ~ 2” down from top, for overflow) tank is about 2.5 yrs old 1 stand and canopy I built myself. Also has 4 32W fluorescent bulbs All plumbing and hoses required for setting up sump

Any advice and observations would be great.

Thanks
Dharma

That is a great deal!!

Does it allready have an overflow box installed and what about a stand?

If the tank is clean, i say go for it. That pump alone goes for 90 bucks US brand new. The lighting is way to weak though for coral. Unless of course, this is just a FOWLR set-up.

But as allways, see if you can work something out. :joke:

I took a look at it tonight and he told me that he needs it out. He kept one of the filters though but he lowered the price to $200.00! I was shocked. Nice oak stand and canopy too! I said I will take it. Nice guy he is a engineer at lockhead martin and just wants someone who would appreciate it! Wife says the tank is taking up to much room! Here is a link to a pic of it!
