I looking for a fish from south america that gets about 3-4 inches long. Like a centerpiece type of fish. My Rams were doing fine but one is starting to bully the other so I better take 1 back before things escalate and before the 14 days are up on Wednesday. I'd like to stick with the south america 'theme' so what would work? I would like to get another Ram but the LFS never gets in females.

Also, which one should I take back, the dominant Ram or the nice one?

maybe...

Apistogramma agassizii

festivum more of a mid to top dweler get about 4" and fairly peaceful
or keyholes 3-4" very peaceful
both tend to do well with rams.

Any other apistogrammas. I find aggies and Cacs to be a bit expesnsive out of the common types(they are a lot nicer looking IMO), but borellis aren't too bad. (the fish pictured is a borelli, even though the link is for assorted apistos. at <$10 a pop it's not a bad deal to just order and see what you get.)

You don't have a pair right? Take back the less colorful one. Usually the rams only spar with their own kind and not other fish in the tank. If you did have a pair, dominant one gets agressive when he wants to spawn and she is not ready. It really only lasts for a couple of days and then they are fine again... Usually

You might try to find Biotodomo Cupido. A school of cories on the bottom would also be cool.
