space in tank

i have been looking at everyones aquaruims on here and they are all so beautiful and colorful im wondering if adding plants to my tanks cuts back on the space i have for my fish or will they like it more im not planning on adding more fish to it cause everyone is telling me i have overstocked it already and i would hate for my fish to become mean to each other for invading each others space or even worse not have enough air in ther and have any more of the little fishies die it is a 10 gal tank with 2 serpae 1 painted platy 2 wag tail and a dwarf frog

Once your tank is cycled (possibly several weeks from now), I would honestly add 2-3 more serpaes, that would be the end of stocking, but they are schooling fish and will be much happier, plus they can be a bit nippy and with more of their own kind they should leave the other fish alone if thats been a problem.

As for plants, as long as you don't go overboard, your fish will appreciate the hiding spots, it will make them more secure/comfortable. Even fake would be fine, I have yet to tackle live plants and I think my tank looks pretty good

thanks holly you dont think 2-3 more serpae would be to many fish for my little 10 gal som eppl have told me i have already over stocked it and i was worried about that and i should wait 2-3 more weeks to add plants also or will the silk plants not matter in the cycling process?

I think adding the serpae would be fine to cap off the stocking as well. Definitely add some plants as the fish will be more secure with the hiding areas as Holly mentioned already.

Fake plants can be added any time, personaly I think the sooner you get fake plants in the sooner you will get a gbacteria coat on them to help your cycle process (a surface area thing), but that is just me. They ultimatly will not effect your cycle process and will give your fish a few hiding places.

ok good im going to go buy some plants and things for them to hide in tomorrow morning hope they will like them they seem to be alittle bored just swimming back and fourth in the tank and once in awhile hiding in there little castle from there lil terror tank mates lol
