spare eheim

hallo all,

i have a 72g bowfront with 2 Emperor 400s. i have a eheim 2217 doing nothing in my garage. i was thinking of hooking it up with some media for the bacteria to propogate in/on. y'all see any advantage to supplementing the 400s that way?

I think the more benificial bacteria/filtration the better.

I would hook it up and run all the filters for like a month, then get rid of the emperors and just use the eheim. I'm doing that right now so the bacteria can grow in the eheim then i'm losing my HOB filter on my 72 bow.
