spawning angels...

my angles spawn about every two weeks in a heavily stocked 55, no slate, they lay eggs on the filter tube. A neutral ph, temp at 80, and usually after a water change and some ocean plankton. they love the ocean plankton. Im setting up my 46 for them in the next weeks or so, to see if i can keep the fry from becoming snacks. On a side note, angels become quite aggressive when spawning, i never realized they were so quick until my male turned sideways and smashed into a bala like a torpedo, lol, silver bala scales went flying everywhere.

lol wow mine have not turned that aggressive

I think their aggressiveness is due to the fact that they are in a pretty crowded tank. Perhaps they have learned they need to kick some a** in order to keep those kids alive. the first few spawn the eggs only lasted a day or two before being picked off, but the last set of fry actually made it free swimming, but in the end they were still lunch for someone. Perhaps the clown loach's or rtbs or balas or the pims, who knows.
