So I decided to upgrade my CPD's tank into a 20G since my current breeding strategy isn't working. I had to take everything out of their tank, and I nonchalantly put my spawning mop in the mbuna tank. Now normally these guys would be really active when I'm around, but a few minutes later I saw them all in the corner. No more chasing around, no more hierarchy. They only do that when they're sleeping. Then it hit me, they were all scared to death of the spawning mop! It made me laugh. I kind of wanted to chase them around with the mop, but I'm not that cruel. Or AM I. The answer is no. I put the spawning mop into the 10G tank for the mbuna fry, but they're not scared of it. I wonder why. Mbuna tanks are so much more trouble than my old community tank! I have to change water two times a week to get the water quality to where I feel comfortable them being. This is a stark contrast to my community tank where I used to not change my tank water for weeks at a time.
