Came home from work yesterday and found an empty container of Spectrum Ick-Shield on the floor. (I have some fish in quarantine and usually feed this as a precaution). I have two 20lb mutts (dogs) that were the culprits. Didn't think much of it, looked on the container and there is no warning as toxic etc. This morning around 6:00am I awoke and noticed both dogs walking with a stilted/drunken gait and with their mouths hanging slightly open? My male dog's pupils were totally dialated! He then vomited, which smelled distinctly like the fish food....as I was getting ready to take them to my vet my male dog started arching his back, curling up his feet and gagging...I truly thought he was going to die on my kitchen floor! My female dog started exhibiting the same symptoms....
Both dogs were at vets all day.....liver & kidneys values were good, so were electrolytes .....they are both home.... still exhibiting convulsing like symptoms in hepatic circulation.....I have been administering sub-cutaneaneous fluids and charcoal. I have ripped house and grounds apart to figure out if there was anything they could have been exposed to...I have come up with nothing except the Spectrum Ick!!!! To be fair, my vet called Poison Control.....they didn't seem concerned with the product's ingredients .......although some of the active ingredients showed toxicity to rats???? Don't know what to say except PLEASE, PLEASE keep this food AWAY from your cats or dogs!!!!!!

Thank you for the heads up and I'm so sorry you had to go through that with your dogs. I remember when one of my rotties had a stroke which caused a seizure. Some of the same symptoms you mentioned and it was heart breaking! Hoping for a speedy and full recovery.

Poison Control is more concern with poison to humans, and some of this stuff does not hurt us, so they do not know. Chocolate is a good example, we love it, but kills dogs.

I've heard avocado has been removed from poison list, toxic to birds and livestock but harmless to dogs and cats
