Hi, I just purchased a striped peacock eel for my 55, which is housing some baby c.a. cichlids.

I have read they get to about 8" or so.

Anyone know anything about them other than absic care, which I know? Interesting stuff like personailty, etc? Not much seems to be written about them. Thanks.

i think that they like to bury themselves in the substrate with only there nose poking out. some can be quite smart and will eat out of your hand!

I have a baby zig zag eel. I got him about a month ago and just recently he has started becoming more active. Im guessing hes more comfortable with the tank now. But is he something else. I feed him live black worms and he goes crazy for them. he will swim up to me when I am putting them in the tank and eat them right off the fork (I use a fork b/c I dont like the worms...lol) I can always tell when he wants to eat because he will swim up to the front of the tank and stare at me.

Mine doesnt like to dig in the substrate but he does like hiding in plants or next the driftwood. I also have a piece of slate resting up against the glass to create a cave and he loves to hid under there with his nose poking out. (like hes doing right now!)

They are lot of fun...one of my favorite fish. They definately have alot of personality! Good luck with yours!

I added some pictures of mine, sorry they are so blurry.
