I have 8 adult spixis that have pretty bad shells (they were bad when i got them but now just getting worse) I keep them with shrimp & the calcium (kents) is too much for the shrimp and they end up dying, I have to stick them in a seperate tank and treat, now HOW LONG DO YOU THINK IT WILL TAKE TO RESTORE THE SHELLS? Are their shells able to be restored?

( I have had cuttlebone in there, feed calcium filled snail jello to them but nothing has worked)

whats the pH of the water? If I put them in my CRS tank (RO and aquasoil) their shells slowly dissolve. The ones in my hard water tanks look fine. I am not sure if adult snails can repair their shells like that or if you would have to wait for babies.

BTW incase you didn't know spinxis eat hydra, very useful in shrimp tanks.

here's one:

ph is 7.6-7.8, I have no idea how hard or soft the water is. should I try veggies?
also do they change shells, like if I put a bigger one or same sz one in there they might change into that one?

the liquid calcium I did for a short time due to it killing my shrimp. I am going to stick them (spixis) in their own 5g tank for a while to dose them with liquid calcium. other than that they have been getting reg. calcium since I have had them (several months)

There is not a way to repair that, you can only prevent further damage. The only reason to be concerned is if the erosion is over the area where their organs are. Are there any holes that go all the way through the shell? In theory, with a ph as high as yours, the snails should not suffer much more erosion or etching and as long as thye are getting a calcium rich diet, the new shell growth should be good.
