This question is not about my 100G home tank, but rather the 55G tank at my office. I am actually surprised that anything is still alive and that the entire system did not crash since no one was taking care of the tank for months. I am not sure how they were keeping the water level up and the salt level was terrible. It is still pretty high at 1.026-1.028, but they have someone taking care of the tank now and everything seems to be thriving. Anyway...they have had a BTA for about 4 months now and it seems to be getting bigger every day! He/she/it has been looking a little green (literally) this past week and when I stopped by this morning, the BTA no longer looked like a big flower....it looks more like a strip with bubble tips all over it. I know that they split in different ways, whether it be right in two or "shedding" and outer rim. Do you think that this is what is happening and how long does it take to split?
