Hi there.
Im busy cycling a 35L tank in my room.
We also have a 190L tank downstairs with external filter and in the tank we have:
Obviously id need to check the water of the 190L tank to ensure ammonia and nitrite is at 0, and that nitrate is below 30/40.
The catch though, im cycling my 35L tank with household ammonia and its levels are around 3, nitrite levels are around 0.50. If i dipped the sponge in and squeezed it, wont the sponge carry some of these toxins back over to its filter and therefore into that tank (190L)?
Is it neccessary to dip the sponge of the 190L tanks filter into the water of my tank, or can i simply just hold it above my tank and squeeze it in. Needing advice. Im very impatient and want to speed my cycling process up as quick as possible.
Thanks
