Hey so as the title says i was wondering if the spotted australian arowana was hard to find around here in the US because im having a hard time searching for them all i can find are the pearls which i've kept but want a different type so i was just wondering.... how much would it cost to find a 6in spotted aussi...?

the leichardti arowanas that I've seen for sale have been in the $150+ range for very small ones, and you wont find them for sale very often. I've only seen them pop up a couple of times on MFK.

wow Levi they are cheap near you then. They are $225 for a 3-4"er here in MD.

Unless you have a MASSIVE tank, you shouldn't get get one even if you find it.

hmm

I have seen gold arowanas for sale for 150 or so in my area. never seen a spotted one though.

Not that I ever plan on getting an arrowana, just commenting.

Anything large enough to comfortably hold a 3 ft. arowana.

3' aussy aros are very hard to find in the hobby, 3' south american silvers and blacks maybe but the others stay around 2' or less.
if i was going to get an arowana other than an asian it would be a leichardti.

Right On! I appreciate your educating another Arowana "Chicken Little"! The "Urban Myth", where Arowana are concerned, seems to have grown to unrealistic proportions here on Aquaria Central! ...now if the subject of keeping Hippos ever comes up I'll not say a word. :p:
