I bought 5 "Spotted cories" and now that Ive got them home and in the tank I notice that 4 look similiar to this Swartz's cory.

And the other is just spots no dark area on the head area. Im just curious if the one oddball will still hang out with the others or if I should go back and try to get him a friend that looks like him.

One of the most often mis-labeled fishies.

Any of the plethora of corys that have spots (at all) are labeled as "spotted corys" by Petsmart. You just never know what you'll find in that tank.

The guy at my LFS said that he just orders them as "spotted" and that way he gets them cheaper. When he orders a specific one, the breeder charges more. I'm not going to argue when I can go in there and if they have some that I like I get them for about $1.99. lol

Yeah I got 2 "spotted cories" from petsmart. pretty sure one is a false julii and the other is a hybrid false julii/swartz.

I agree the spotted I got a long time ago and the ones labeled as spotted looks more like jullii.
