im tired of putting up a background with tape. The tape will randomly fall off for me or it will lose that tight grasp to the back of the tank and you can tell by looking at it from the front its not right.

What kind of black spray paint would you recommend or have used in the past. Im lookig for a non shiny finish just a dark dull black.

I use Ace hardwares flat black spray enamel

I just use Krylon flat or semi-flat spray paint on mine.... take 3-4 coats to get good solid coverage but for $3 a can you cant beat it :)

Any black paint should work, none stick to glass so well, so it will make removing it easy when you want to change it.

I used the cheap paint at wal-mart. Less than $1 a can. It will look a little glossy, because you view it from the glass side.

Also make sure it is DRY, real dry, before you put any HOB stuff on it. I have a few little "spots" from putting stuff on the back. Just becareful not to mess it up. No one besides me can see the spots, but I know they are there.

went and picked up a can of flat black Krylon. Just put coat 2 on look solid black ill go over it one more time in another 30mins then im set. My dam substrate better come tom.

Just another idea. Ive been using vinyl for several years now. I have a local sign shop that sells it to me for a couple bucks a foot. Makes a nice crisp background color and peels right off if you ever need to remove it. Its the same vinyl used for automotive decals.
