Has anyone ever used Stability by Seachem? My tank has been set up for 7 months, but I just changed water from regular tap to RO water, although I didn't dry out the substrate. I also have a bio wheel and didn't mess with it either, but since such a large water change, thought it might affect my balance. Had a big algae bloom for almost 2 months, and couldn't fix it so changed the type of water.

My LFS recommended this to balance my bacteria.

Thanks in advance.

I also was recomended by the LFS guy to get this stuff. Used it according to the directions, plus a capfull when I do a water change. I cant say for sure if it really works, nearing the end of a fishy cycle and lost one fish.Next time gonna use Bio-Spira although its still kinda hard to find around here.

Well a water change shouldent mess anything up unless you didnt de-chlor it. If you didnt it would of killed all the good bacteria. The product you used is more or less useless and is not doing anything like adding bacteria. Also may I ask why are you using RO water? Please test and post your ammoina, nitrite, nitrate, and pH levels.

Levels

At this time, everything is just basic as I did the change today. I had a horrible algae bloom that would not go away no matter what I tried. Postassium was off the charts and we could not lower it no matter what. It has finally hit 0. RO water is much better as there is nothing in it and you have to add to it. I was just having too many problems with different forms of algae and cloudy and messy water.

MOst of my LFS's use it and they swear by it. It is worth it to me just to not have to buy a bunch of things to stop things from happening. I live in Florida and the water here is 1% potassium right out of the tap. Add fish waste, feeding and other contaminants, and you have a mess.

It was the thing to do for me.

Oh, and I did not de-chlor.
