Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has tried stacking Hydro Sponge filters on top of each other? I've figured out how to fit them together without any additional adapters or anything but I have a question concerning the airline/airstone:

Do I attach the airline/airstone to the bulls eye of the top or bottom filter? Or does it not matter?

My gut tells me I should attach it to the bottom filter because attaching it to the top filter wouldn't create any water suction for the bottom filter, but I just wanna make sure.

If you start adding filter height to your sponge, you will probably need to go with a power head of some kind to get enough flow through the whole filter. The bubbler setup is made the right size for one filter so unless you want a second just as decoration you will need to up the total flow. I don't know any way to do that without changing the size of the lift tube unless you force the flow through the tube, which a power head will do.

Thanks Oldman47, I'm just trying to seed the second filter to keep as a standby for a QT, do I still need to get a powerhead?
