Had star polyps for around 2months & it was doing so well near enough doubled in size but over the last 2weeks my Star Polyps has add sign`s of been eaten :thud: not happy ..........

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~NIGHTMARE~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
i`ve noticed bristle worms im not sure that its them thats eating it as i have also noticed a few slugs ( nudibranch ) i`ve now been removing these could these have been the problem are would it be bristle worms are something else not happy as every one else seems to have star polyps growing like weeds & surely these people have hitchhiker slugs worms crabs etc so is it just bad look any one else had same problem with star polyps been eaten???
~~ADVICE WANTED~~
PLEASE
i`ve never seen him bother it tho but saying that at night you never know what he is up too
you could have a hitch hiker crab somewhere. I had the same problem and started seeing small pieces missing and some floating about the tank. After a few days of inspection I found a crab doing it. Some are terratorial and will stay with the coral. They come out at night but during the day they squeeze up tight to the rock and are barely noticable
i`ve bought another star polyps rock since & i noticed that a white crab lives in a hole on this new rock but dose not seem to have done any damage as yet been 3weeks & for my other star polyps rock that received the damage well since i posted this thread i removed 5 slugs ( nudibranch ) & the star polyps is back growing without any further damage so hopefully that will be an end to the coral been eaten
but as far as hitchhiker crabs go besides the new white one i got 3 others one looks like a sally lightfoot the others probably are coral,fish eating nasty crabs but not been able to catch em but i`ve not seen any more damage within my tank since removing the slugs but hopefully i wont cause these crabs are fast but thanks for the in put ezzkazz
