what would you feed a choc. chip star fish? the man at the pet store told me brine shrimp, but im worried that the other fish would get to the food first.
and do you have to quarentine first?

they eat almost anything...try shrimp chunks, and yes QT

You would put the food right next to him and he would take it from your hand. I don't know what kind of tank you have but just to let you know they are not reef safe.

I've never put a star or most other inverts in qt. Just make sure that you introduce it slowly to your main tank you'll need to do a slow drip acclimation as they will die quickly if put under osmotic stress.

I had the same problem with my chocolate starfish. I started feeding mine shrimp pellets. Since they immediately sink, you can aim your drop and make them fairly close to the starfish.

My CCSF goes to the top of the tank and lays 1 to 2 of its arms on top of the water. I just lay a piece of shrimp (From the supermarket) near its mouth and it eats. It also will eat the Nori (Seaweed) from the clip that I have for my Tang and Angel. These things eat just about anything!

I had feed mine when he's at the top of the tank also.
