Starter 10G?

Right now I keep a betta with two Paradise fish in a ten gallon tank. This is the only betta I have ever owned. He has had quite a few homes around here with various cohorts. I like to keep anabantids with little rasboras I would consider a few of them but only the smaller ones. A little java moss and fern, very easy tank to maintain.

I have always been very fond of the rasboras they are very hardy fish. A little school of harlequins that is my vote.

Are rasboras shy? Would they constantly hide in the back? I got a bunch of cardinals, and all they do is hide in the back behind the plants...:(

Neons will get along with a Betta but, they hvae to be keeped in schools of more than 1 fish. This means that they will get too big for your tank. I myself like ADFs with Bettas.

Well, 5 neons would be fine, and that constitutes as a school...

I wouldn't call them shy. Sometimes fish school and hide because they are nervous. It takes time for them to figure out if they are safe and what they need to avoid. Most likely in a small tank harlequins will pretty much stop schooling once they feel safe. But periodically they will decide to swim together.

I have 6 serpae tetras right now. When I first put them in the tank they went nuts. They schooled, then they fought, then they schooled, then they fought. Now they all kind of hang out all over and play tag. There are 4 otocinclus in that tank and the serpae bug them a bit but the otos have figured that game out now and they are fine.

I might add some more otos in a bit to that tank, but pretty much I consider it stocked. Less fish more plants, I prefer it that way. If I can balance it just about right it makes it very easy.

I'm still all for the white clouds. I picked up 5 today. 1 male and 4 female. Super energetic, no hiding, and they were a blast playing in the filter splash. I videotaped it. This went on for hours, taking turns riding the filter splash. I couldn't believe my eyes. I'm hoping they'll spawn. I want a bright red betta, to go with them, I'm planning to make this a loosely based Asian tank :)

Sounds like fun. I have always wanted to keep some white clouds and some gouramis outside for the summer. Maybe this would be a good year to do that!

Its been 12 hours and I'm still in love with those kooky white clouds, with powder blue gourami? Now that's a thought :)

Maybe I'll get some for MY tank...:)

Are they compatible with dwarf puffers?
