greetings, i finally decided to pull an old 55g tank out of the garage and bring it back to life after a decade of storage. its previous life was a DIY high tech setup that i helped with but all that is left is the aquarium, stand, Magnum HOT filter and some rocks. unfortunately the hood was disposed of in a past move.
i am aiming for a low-tech planted community tank with no CO2 on a fairly tight budget. from what i have gathered i should be shooting for around 2wpg at 6500k. i checked the local hardware stores and they carry T12 6500 45w bulbs. would a cheap shop light with two of these be sufficient? any other lower cost lighting ideas?
