starting a carpet in my 55g

hello everyone,

any tips or advice as to how to go about planting a nice carpet in my 55g tank?

What kind of plant would you guys recommend? and lighting/nutrients?

i want the lawn effect, but dont know where to begin.

It really depends on what lights you have on your tank and if you are running C02 or not.

yea...you have lots of choices, but they are all limited to what kind of light and co2 you have on the tank....they tend to require more of everything because less light hits the bottom of the tank....

Agreed...dwarf sag, dwarf hairgrass, HC, glosso, etc. Depends on your tank specs.

well i currently have a little over 2 watts per gallon of floursecent lighting on my 55g tank.

But im not running any co2...

Where should i go from here?

Dwarf hairgrass or dwarf sag IMO.

I have marsilea minutain my 5 gallon low light tank. I will say that it grows pretty slowly without C02 but when it fills out it looks really nice.
