Just done a check on my marine water stats and the readings are:

Ammonia 1
Nitrite 0.025
Nitrate 20
cwm26.gif

PH 8.2
Specific gravity 1.023
Alk normal
Temp 79

Did a 10% water change on Tuesday and since then my levels have changed.

What is going on with my tank?and what should i do to correct it?

what inhabitants do you have in the tank right now?

Have you ever done water tests on the water that your using for the tank, before it goes in there? and what kind of water do you use..RO or tap water?

Niko

atnixon my inhabitants are 2 small clowns,1 firefish and 1 coral beauty.
Also 4 redleg hermit crabs and 6 turbo snails.

I am using RO water from my LFS for top ups,no tap water used at all.

How old is tank?
Where the fishes added recently? If so, how many at once?
Do you have a missing snail? I had a nassarius decide it was a good idea to eat a piece of food stuck to the intake of a powerhead. It had to go through some acrobatics to get to it only to end up sucked into the PH until death. My blue legged hermit loved its pretty shell though. Anyway, I got on a tangent.

Hope it works out.

Done another test later this afternoon:

Ammonia 0.025
Nitrate 0
Nitrite 20
PH 8.2
Specific gravity 1.023
Alk normal
Phosphate 0.1
Temp 79.

Also did a test on the LFS water

Ammonia 0.025
Nitrite 0.5
Nitrate wait for it......................50
PH 8.4
Specific gravity 1.027

Have got one neon blue leg crab missing now

DON"T USE LFS WATER ANY MORE!!!!!!!!!!! Either find a new source or get a RO/DI unit.

Thanks jojo22 for the reply.

Will check a price for a good RO/DI unit.
