ok,i have done some research and determend i have one male and one female jewel cichlid, in the tank i have a rock cave in the back left corner, and at the other end i have a flate rock about 8" long and 3.5" wide, and infront of the cave i have a fake 8" high foxtail plant, i have sand at the bottom of the tank and a duetto 100 filter, and i have a heater, i have had the 2 cichlids for 3 days, they seem to be happy, i am going to purchase 2 more jewels to insure i have atleast one pair, what other items should i get to encourage them to breed, and what other fish should i put in with them, the tank is a 29gallon tall,
thank you,
shane

You might get a few more but once they pair off you should probably remove the others, as a 29 gall. is probably sufficient enough for only one pair. If you want, you might put in some live plants like java fern and anubius (both vary easy) and some more rock caves or even some driftwood. I'm jealous, I love the jewel cichlids and would love to have a couple. Good luck with them.
