It was great, but was constantly annoyed every time the actor who played Anakin appeared. Do any of you know why they casted this guy in the first place; he kept the entire movie experience down for me. All due respect, but he is one of the most horrific actors I have ever seen. No actor has ever annoyed me so greatly and ruined my movie going experience since him.

For example, when Samuel Jackson encountered the Sith, it was an intense scene, which I greatly enjoyed; however, when Anakin came, he pretty much blew it. I silently said to myself shaking my head "**** it! Get the hell out. You’re ruining everything!"

Don't even get me started on the 2 episode and how he totally blew that one. Good God, he was a complete disaster. His “acting” abilities in addition with the semi cheesy dialogue made it one of the worst episodes of Star Wars I have ever seen. Such a pity.

I actually felt that Hayden Christensen (sp?) did a really good job at conveying the various emotions that ultimately lead Anakin to the darkside.

How did he "blow" the scene where Mace Windu confronts the Chancellor? I think you're supposed to get that "get out of there Anakin" feeling.

Episodes I, II, and III suffer from over-anticipating fans who have such high expectations, they ruin the films for themselves. I used to feel that the new trilogy had cheesy dialog until I bought the old trilogy on DVD, and realized that those movies had some lines that were on the cheesy side as well.

To each his own, I guess.

I agree Milt...he wasn't the best choice..too whiny...but Lucas is kinda whiny too...and he can't right dialogue to save his butt. However, I've been a fan for 28 years, and I think the action and effects pulled this one out of the doldrums that 1 and 2 were in. He tied things up pretty well, too. When the DVD comes out on Nov. 8, it will have 20 minutes more. I think the emperor stole the show. I had fun and will watch it a few more times in the theatre with my son, then buy the DVD for new scenes..before I go into Star Wars withdrawels!

I think it's pretty amazing that Lucas has been able to milk this thing for 28 years. I didn't start out as a Star Wars fan..the first one I saw was The Empire Strikes Back, then went back to see the original one. The first 3 I liked, but this prequel stuff is stretching a bit thin. I'll go see it just to finish out the series. One of my kids has already been, and said there are no big suprises...just ties everything together.

No where in any Star Wars movie can the acting be considered great. The stories are fun to watch and the plot is great but except for Chewie in Empire Strikes back no one could act their way out of a paper bag. Lucas writes so that the actors can't do very much.

Laff this is exactly how I felt, just needed to see it to get it done... then my husband told me there are actually three more episodes waiting to be made! He told me the original movies were parts 4, 5, & 6 of a series, the three recent prequels were parts 1, 2, & 3, but parts 7, 8, & 9 doexist (in book form).
I'm guessing they'll end up in theatres some time in the next decade or so, and I'll have to see them just so I can be finished watching them all ;).

I agree 100% there!! In fact we have this dog...she's a boxer...who makes these great Wookie noises. We call her a Wookie, and tell her we're going to go see the movie with her relatives in it!

I thought anakin was too young.

The final three of the 9 parts are most commonly refered to as "The Thrawn Trilogy" very well written by Timothy Zahn who is now considered the best Star Wars writer ever. This is considered the the final three episodes for the reason that they are the ONLY books that ever got the personal approval from start to finish by George Lucas.

Even in the New Jedi Order Series Lucas only set up a few parameters and rules that had to be followed IE: who was allowed to die etc...

The three books were called :
- Heir to the Empire
- Dark Force Rising
- The Last Command

The problem with this being done as a movie series would be that these books take place only 5 years after Return of the Jedi. It has been entirely too long. The main actors are getting old, and some minor actors have even died.

The whole premise would have to be changed or they would have to have an entire new cast. Someone else playing Solo besides Harrison Ford.... It would never work.

The other theory going around is to make the new films based on the New Jedi Order Series. This takes place some 25 years after Return. It revolves around Han and Leia Solo kids twins Jacen and Jaina who are around 18 and younger brother Anakin who is 16. As well as Luke and wife Mara Jade and Han and Leia after Chewbacca dies.

Problem here is that the series is 19 books long. How do you fit all that into only 3 films without cutting out some important details, and the series goes into great detail.

So that being said. Check out the link. It is quotes from a Lucas inteview of possibly going the other direction into the Knights of the Old Republic time. Roughly 200 to 100 years before Episode 1. When the Jedi and the Sith were both powerful and fought tooth and nail. Can you say Darth Bane? The biggest Badàss of all the Sith. Meaner and more aggressive than any Sith before and after him.

That would be cool.

Now that I Have geeked you out with my sometimes far to deep and creepy Star Wars knowledge.
Heres the link.

Scotto, I don't know if I should be impressed with you or pity you. :p:

Just for nothing. I was three years old when Star Wars came out in '77. I actually remember going to see it in the theater and shooting "laser guns" at my brother in the back seat of the car on the way home.
