Steal or raw deal?

My experience with moving a DSB has never been a major problem, the water gets cloudy, the surface gets stirred but the bottom few inches dont really move.

Is the a 'scoop and bucket' approach, or leaving the DSB in the tank and moving the tank? Scoop and bucket will pretty much destroy the anoxic layers and set the tank back months in that dept.

Given this is only a 55, the DSB should be able to be moved while leaving it in the tank as long as you take the precaution of using something to put the tank on just to be safe. I could easily move it this way with another adult. The rest, as we agrre on is just a matter of logistics. Actually it's a good thing there isn't a 100lbs of LR in that sucker :-)

As for the Magnum 350, just toss the biowheels, pull the filter media, and use it for water movement for now.
