lol I wanted to see what would happen and I found out :P it gets really hot and emits a very noxious sulfur smelling gas... yech.

thanks again for the advice guys.

That seems like a really bad idea. You should never mix any chemical with bleach (or two chemicals in which you don't know the probable outcome). You should never, ever directly smell the mixture! Maybe waft. Never smell.

Geez.

hehe don't worry I was well aware of the dangers and took nessecary precautions:P And I wafted. carefully. JIC there was chlorine gas... but there wasn't:D hehe anyway I have a huge jar of sodium thiosulfate ( I believe dechlorinator is a dilute aqueous solution of this) outside with my photo chemicals and I was hoping some sort of violent reaction would ensue, opening up a wide range of possibilities for pest extermination but it was actually just a mild reaction producing a slightly nuisance gas.

Oh and vato, the duckweed looks fine and it's growing 3 days later.

well after all that work all my duckweed is gone. my pl*co ate it. lol it was pretty funny watching him swim around upside down to get it though:D

see thread "my pl*co is an a******" in "catfish and bottom feeders".
