STOCK MY 150!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Humbug to cichlids! :silly:

They're wonderful fish, but everyone and their brother has 'em now (especially oscars). Get something different!

make the 150 heavily planted and get 3 female guppys and 1 male and see how long til they over populate then put ur jag back in

I'm with Whateveryousay on this, get some cichlids (I forget their name) like the blue and yellow kind that you always see in Petsmart. I don't have them yet, but I plan on it after I move out in a few years.

Aoscar, what do you think so far? What fish have you decided thus far? We'd like to hear more about your final decisions.:)

not sure yet. I really don't think I have time for discus, mabey africans although i am more fasinated by their behavior rather than their looks, mabey a frontosa colony? or planted community however i would need a "centerpiece" I don't want any monsters or I'd be asking this on MFK still deciding!

i like kennis and electric yellows kind of leaning to africans, still not sure .
ABSOLUTLEY NO GOLDFISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
they are messier than oscars and not my style i think of goldfish as a food fish and not food for people

In a lightly stocked and well planted 150, discus wouldn't be that much work. Alot of people say that they need daily water changes, but unless you are growing for show, it's really just overkill. They can be MUCH hardier than most give them credit for.

Here's a big planted tank with a fei feng (Procheilodus) as a centerpiece. Check it out! http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=137717&highlight=fei+feng

You could simply try a river tank, aoscar. If you are fascinated with tiger loaches (Syncrossus), go for it. Suitable tankmates are usually barbs, danios, rasboras, Garra, red-tailed black sharks, rainbow sharks and Apollo sharks. They should be feisty and able to defend themselves from possible aggression by the tiger loaches. Tiger loaches can also be mixed with the other aggressive loach species such as the infamous Yasuhikotakia modesta and Y. morleti.:)
