WHITBY, ONTARIO CANADA!
hey i know people do these threads all the time but i need ideas for stocking in:

15g: sand, drift wood

and

10g: gravel, rocks

they are both totally empty, i just really need ideas!

thanks :)

It looks like you've got the general community thing down with your 55...so, how do you feel about species only tanks?

The 15 with sand would work for the smaller shellies since they are diggers (see shelldwellers.com for more info). The 10 would be perfect for 2 or 3 dwarf puffers and some oto cats, or maybe a split betta tank. You will just love DPs though...I hate to say it since I LOVE my cory cats, but they are more fun than cories!

How can you not love this face:

lol nice, k the only problem would be is i am mostlikly not going to be getting plants for the tank, for a while (got wrong lights, american brand not sold here, ended up with 2500k ones) so would the drawfs be ok with just rocks?

i am pretty sure my lfs just got in dwarfs but they were under a different name, i will check when i go back on thursday :)

Hi,

You know what one of my stocking ideas will be, Cories!

For your 15 gallon, you could get six Panda Cories, eight Neons, and a Dwarf Gourami as a center piece, and some shrimp.

For your 10 gallon, you could get six Pygmy Cories, two-three Cherry Barbs, and and some shrimp or ADFs.

The DPs would appreciate some plants, and fake is certainly okay until you can get the real stuff in there. Rocks would work as well if it's a built-up type of structure with lots of hidey spots.

I think I've seen them labeled as Malabar or Indian puffers in a couple of places.

i'd do
15G
8 2" or less schooling fish
1 ram
8 pygmy cories

10G
3 dwarf puffers (1 male, 2 females)
3 otos

how large do the dwarf puffers get. Would a ten gallon support 3 of them? Also i thought i read somewhere that they were brakish, i aint sure but w/e. They look pretty cool. if they can be kept in anything up to a 15 gallon I think ill ask my lfs to order a few for me,

they are very tiny (1" as adults) but they need a lot of space, no less than 3Gs per fish. they are true FW fish.

if you have any more questions make a thread in GFW.

hey guys thanks alot

it was really wiered i cannot remember the name but it was something really out there like ocean green puffers, but they were all very small and look just like FW dwarf puffers, anyway its all good the guys there know their fish so i will just ask them :)

thanks again

Before getting any dwarf puffers make sure you have enough food for them. They generally are super picky when young and only eat live food, especially snails. I would setup a snail breeding tank first and get a good stock prior to getting the DP's. As for plants, java fern will still grow with those lights, just slowly. Also silk plants are a fine idea as well. Also when buying, many DP's are on their way to dieing. Make sure they have plump bodies and not just a skinny head with a small body.
