hey,

i just recently got my 20 gallon up and running and currently only have a male betta. What other fish would be a good addition to my tank and how many? I was thinking harlequinn rasboras if i remember correctly they're the red ones? Anyway any suggestions or help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Bjork

I recently got a 20-gallon tank and started with a betta. I added a few zebra danios and they all seem to get along. I'm going to get some more zebras soon.

otos or cory cats might be a good idea. The betta may not like other fish if they are brightly colored and/or flowing fins, however they're all different!

so today i got a harlequinn rasbora and a pleco. Unfortunately it was the last rasbora in stock at the fish store. I'm going to be going to the others tomrrow and try and find some. I'll probably end up buying another 4-5 rasboras. My betta gives chase to the rasbora whenever he kind of finds it in the tank. I'm hoping by tomorrow he'll be used to his new tankmate.

Maybe, Betta's are pretty territorial, you may want to take him out for a night, or re-arrange the decorations a bit, he should leave the little guy alone. And you should get some gourami's for your tank ^ ^.

try making a medium rockcave on one side of the tank so ur betta can establish that as HIS territory. this way, he'll only chase them if they enter his territory.

that makes no sense at all. the betta and gourami would fight till the death.
:duh:
