HELP!!!! they are still fighting... i'm 99% sure they are fighting. one looks like he might be hurt near his gill (the gill split goes up too far) and they are still going at it. occasionally they'll swim past and nip or chase the neon rainbow... i thought they were surposed to be friendly and nice fish ><
i don't know what to do!!! >< should i separate them??? is it normal??? will they kill eachother!?!?!
phew... i think its ok. maybe they were just establishing heirachy or something. silly fish had me panicking. now they are quite happy and munching on frozen blood worms. (they are so cute when they eat).
is it evil of me if i don't move them to the large tank? i like them in the little tank... should i see how they go? i'm in love with their little mouths and whiskers. how dainty. like little mice.
i kinda like the kuhli loach but at the same time i hate it...
do you think if i had
4 neon rainbow
3 yoyo loach
3-4 kuhli loach
in my ten gallon it would be horrifically overcrowded?
would that be a cruel and unusual torture for fish? i want them to be happy but the loaches... they are so cute... look at their little mouths!!! just look at them!!! tell me that isn't adorable!!!!
if i put the yoyos in with my gouramis and angels would they nip at them? (i'm more worried about the angel getting hurt now i know what those loaches are like in action!!! boy oh boy!!!)
i really would prefer the yoyos in the 10 gallon though... just to add life. they are awesome little guys... now they have come out of their shell and stopped trying to murder one another lol.
i'd love comments from anyone who has something to say... even if its "yes... i like yoyos too" lol!!!
yes would be over stocked, if they are too big it would be cruel to keep them in too confining space, my gourami leave the loaches alone, angels vary on what they would do to other fish
kuhli (coolie) would be better off it seems where they have places to hide if they want and move freely, the yo-yo's would be happy aslong as they have a place to hide and be able to turn around in the tank without much acrobatics, you would also look up some of the species in a book to see what they are compatable with, unfortunatly the books I have are outdated and dont have cetain information here's a website devoted to all kinds of loaches, http://www.loaches.com they have a species index most with pictures that tells temperment and how they would do with other fish, I will try to help you as much as i can
does that mean i can choose either loach to go in the tank? (or am i hearing what i wanna hear... i do that alot!)
gosh i've read so much about loaches i think my head will explode... i just can't get over their little mouths! haha i guess i sound like i have a weird fish fetish... i don't... not yet
I would see to the comfort of the fish before you decide which tank to house them in, most loaches are sensitive to the weather, thats why they have the barbels on their mouths, I think it helps them feel around for food and everything too, i like the loaches, the clown ones are goofy as they swim upsidown and play dead alot, just as long as noone flushes them....
lol so i'll just wait it out and see what happens... if there's issues move them... yes? hey if they are sensitive to weather would they go crazy before a storm and act weird because we've been having MASSIVE storms with lotsa lightning here lately. and does that also mean they would sense the storms more in a small tank? mmm food for thought (tasty)
anyways you've been great help!!! thanks heeeeeeeeeaps!!!!!!! i gotta go and sorta myself out for tomorrow (work yuk) but you've been awesome. i bow before you :bowing:
hehe have a nice night or day... whereever you are and you better believe i'll be back tomorrow with more questions... or ravings... depends what mood takes me
