where did you get the cobalt blue lobster? Have you had any problems with it trying to eat or kill your fish? I've always wanted to get a hammers cobalt blue from liveaquaria, but I didn't want to be feeding it with my current occupants.

I Still think puffers are the best choice amazing to watch, tonns of personality, great to watch hunting. Just all around perfect. I love mine!! Gizmo+Mantik=LOVE!
I got it from petco of all places. It will only chase the fish when they go into his cave. They are really interesting to watch the only problem is that they are nocturnal.stingray4540 said:
I'm leaning towards them at the moment. I had to take my beta out due to the high water movement in the tank do to the lack of plants. So now I am just filtering clean water, until my plants come in. I may have the fish as soon as this weekend, but it will probably be later. I want to get all of my plants growing good first.Betta-Luvn said:

About the coolest thing about guppys is they breed so easily and are super easy to keep. Rams are a great idea---very cool fish--very colorful and with a lot of plants--a very cool 10 gallon tank.

I had one male Guppy. One. Yellow, spotted. He chased Raspboras and all other Tetras in the tank that were ranging in size from smaller than him to a bit bigger than him, like Neons and Pristella. Watched him do it. For days.
He is no longer with us.
I had a 5 male guppies. Four of them formed a gang and nipped my white platy to death. When they were done with him they turned on the fifth guppy and killed him. Then they turned on each other.
Possibly went aggressive because all were males. Regardless, I don't have guppies anymore.

I would say, yes you could do two dwarf rams in a 10....if they are a bonded pair...and even then there will be periods of time when one will pester the other. If you do the rams, make sure there's plenty of plants and some driftwood or rocks for them to hide behind if they need to.
If you do shelldwellers, I would recommend the Multifasciatus or Multis. I have had 3 different species of shellies and the multis have proven so far to be the most interesting to watch. They are a community fish and you could keep a good group of them in a 10 with lots of shells. It's fun to watch them dig and move the shells around.
The brevis don't do a heck of alot and the Stappersi are gorgeous, but you couldn't have more than 2 in a 10 and that may be pushing it. They're more aggressive than the others and thier territories are a bit larger. I have 3 in a 20long and I've had to spread thier shells to the far corners of the tank to keep them off each other.
You could do some plants in a tank of shellies...but I wouldnt' put too many, they take up the room the fish need to spread out from each other. Whatever you choose, have fun in the process ! That's one of the best things about this hobby, picking out and setting up a new tank !!

10 gallon set up
i have a 10 gal right now. in it i have 18 small mollies, 5 none tetras, a cory cat, two plecos, and one platty. i know this should be "overstocked", but nothing seems to be hurting. i do frequent water changes. the mollies were the result of a pregnant fish. i am looking to unload everything because i want to do shell dwlling cichlids. and nobody suggest that i feed the mollies to the cichlids...ive heard that from so many people. i raised them from babies...im not feeding them to anything.
