Stocking a 20 Gallon long? Please help!!

Corys are clean little fish and they LOVE being able to group up under stress. If you're worried about them being stressed, get closer to 8 of them and make sure you provide some good caving. Also, my habrosus corys are reacting much less to out-of-tank stimulus now that they're on a dark substrate, something possibly worth keeping in mind.
 
Thanks! I actually spent most of my day yesterday planting the tank and it was a mess at first and it was crazy xD
But now everything is settled and I hope the plants grow quite a bit before I get the fish. I am thinking of getting the corys first. I will check aqua advisor and see if I can have 8 corys instead of 6 :)
 
I'm also setting up a 20L and looking at about the same stock that you are. What a coincidence.

Is there any chance that the shrimp and corys would be competing for food with the rams?

I'm looking at stocking
10 - 15 harlequin rasboras
6 or 8 dwarf corys

And then possibly a trio of bolivian rams, or maybe apistogramma? I've even thought about just grabbing 5 sunset mollys or another bright red/yellow molly to use as a show piece.
 
just drop in an algae tablet for the shrimp every few days. the corries will be occupied with everything else or vice versa

I Like the German Blue rams! I just set up a 20 gal as well and plan on adding them soon!
 
It seems Bolivian rams are hard to find here in Toronto. If I cannot find them, what are some other fish I could put instead of the rams?
 
Please be careful with rams. They are as delicate as discus. If you are not advanced in the hobby stay away from these fish. However if you know how to maintain excellent water conditions in your tanks -- enjoy!!
 
Hmm, I don't know if I'm ready for something so delicate D:
Maybe another kind of fish is better? Anyone have suggestions from experience?
