if that LFS has misinformed you before, don't just take their word for anything. See if you can find another place to buy your fish

Thanks for the pics, those will help a lot.

The only place nearby that I can think of is PetsMart, I don't see them being much different though. There is a fish store not too far away, but if I remember right it's only saltwater fish.

online calculators dont really work. they try to make stocking seem like it is a clear-cut objective subject when that just isnt true. calculators can give you an idea as to what to put in your tank, but you really shouldnt use them to the T. with stocking, you just need to get the hang of it. asking for advice here is a great way to start, and then eventually you'll have enough knowledge to be able to stock you own tanks by just looking at them. no calculator ca do that. plus, the calculator still leaves out so many subjective issues with stocking that are very important, not matter how many calculations and rules it puts into place.

Alright I'll do some more research before I get any fish. Could I also get a few more suggestions of what fish would go good together in a 20g tank?

This calculator is and has been deloped by users which should you decide to use it could become a part of is continued development. Check it out and see. Go to the site. Its perameters are up-dated monthly or so.

And yes there are many things that are subjective one has to admit this calculator is pretty neat and goes way betond any inch of fish per gallon rule.

Don't just judge it without seeing for yourself.

Best wishes,
Wes
