The angelfish did not make it before I could move it. I don't think it was tormented by the other fish- they pretty much left it alone- it just didn't seem very robust. I tried it in three different tanks and its behavior was the same each time- it would eat with gusto on day 1, show interest in food on days 2-3 and then stop eating afterwards. I've decided to not get another because the stock at the stores around me seems to be pretty weak.
It also turns out that my "blue acara" is an apisto- probably the blue steel hybrid- needless to say- it's being moved out of hte tank when I do my next water change on Sunday.
At the moment, my 75G stock is:
1 gold severum (almost 2 inches now)
8 boesemani rainbowfish
3 keyholes (I'm expecting that I may have to remove one of them if I end up with a pair)
2 ancistrus pucallpa
I'd like to add one more cichlid to this tank if possible:
Options: (1) Take the chance with a second severum
(2) Going back to the blue acara as the store I shop at just got a new shipment
(3) Find a port acara
I could also make my 46 a "smaller cichlid tank" for the keyholes and do 2 or 3 of the above options.
Is there less agression between severums if I add a completely different type, for example a rokteil?
Likewise, is there less agression between a blue acara and a port acara than between two blue acaras?
