and i love the blue hippo tang. which im planning on getting
:help: on what should i stock in my fish tank?
thanks
andd is it possible to keep a snowflake eel? i am hoping on geting one but im not sure if 55g is a little too small.

Min. tank size for a snowflake eel is 50 gal. You would just have to watch what other tank mates you put in there. It will eat fish and crustaceans.

If I were you, I would decide what fish you would like to own, and then see if they are compatible with the eel.

For stocking, I would make a list of what you like, taking into consideration the fishes swimming level. Gobies tend to hang out on and under the rock, damsles swim in the middle and top, etc. That way you get a variety and the fish are spread out.

I just got a pink spotted watchman goby, and he is very cool. I can see him easily being my favorite fish.

A 55gal is a great size, as you will find there are a number of fish for you to choose from! I can't wait to see what you decided on.

With both a regal (hippo) tang and a moray in that size tank, you would have room for maybe 3 or 4 other clownfish sized fish in there. Also keep in mind the regal tang cannot be kept in a 55 for it's entire life - it gets too large - you will eventually need atleast a 6 foot long 125g for it.

As for what you can put into it some ideas are a kole, tommini or chevron tang, another clown, a group of chromis, a pair of fire fish and a drawf angel.

If you are into angelfish, a flame angel or coral beauty wouldnt be a bad idea, very colourfull fish.a Goby or two would also look good.:)

this is just my opinion of course...this has been erm....Discussed....so many times...55Gal is the very bear minimum for a yellow tang..I dont see the point in putting a fish in a tank that it will very soon out grow....Think Julian may of made this point earlier in the thread about tangs...

I think a dwarf angel would be nice. You can also choose from gobies (there are some nicely colored firefish gobies), tilefish (there's an awesome looking purple/blue one in my LFS), chromis, a Perchlet, some kinds of anthias, another clown, royal gramma basslet, and some different kinds of cardinals seem to have unique patterns/colors...

I'm sure you can definitely find the colors you're looking for as there are many options out there.

On more thing to take into consideration is the teritorial behaviors of the fish you choose. if you keep comunity fish you should be able to get away with about 6 to 8 max. A good scenario would be two clowns a fllame angel/coral beauty(a bit teritorial) , some cardinals or chromis's and 2 goby's/blennies and offcouse a cleanup crew. Wrasses should also work out OK. :)
