Sorry to post another thread but I want to ask everyone's opinion on my aquarium set up.

I have a 29 gallon tank(glass I think) with a 60 gallon 2 canister filter. I have two bubbler systems, a heater(temp is 80), a coral figurine, a larger coral figurine, and a huge rock(that has holes in it). For plants I have live ones. Two wads(and yes they are wads..should I trim them??) of java moss. and a few things of amazon swords. For my lighting I have a 20 watt(I think...its the biggest I could find for my size hood) and it has been doing well. My plants are doing good cause I put tetramin plant stuff in there(dont remember what its called). For substrate I have small aquarium gravel that is smooth. Its dark blue and green.

For fish I have 8 glowlight tetras and one male swordtail.

I am going to add my male betta in there too. Will I have to turn down the filter and take out one of the bubblers? so the surface wont be so movey(if thats a word:) )

I am planning on adding 5 kuhli loachs.

I would like to add more but am stumped. I need fish that are compatable to my betta. thanks guys!!!

seems ok..... i guess.... someone correct me!

wait... why would you get rid of your bubbler? more surface agitation means more oxygen in your tank or whatnot... but then the plants give off oxygen.... hmm, you got me there :D

well between the filter(double canister) and 2 bubblers the entire surface is bubbles!!!

OH! also I have annoying snails that I have not been able to get rid of for 11 months! my gourami died because he ate too many!!! will this happen to my betta too? I love this betta too much for him to die!:) he is yellow too.

I had to attach a sponge to the filter output of my Penguin biowheel on the 10 gallon that had our Betta in it. He did not like the water turbulence and would cower in the corner until I cut the surface agitation. I have heard this about alot of Bettas. You may need to see how your Betta does with surface movement. He might not have a problem with it.

you are correct..the bubblers will get more air/O2 in the tank..on the flip side it will off gas the CO2..CO2 the plants will benefit from .

Can you prove the above statement? How would you know this to be the case?

well I saw him keep pecking at the snails and then he got a huge lump on his side and he died. Maybe it was something else? thats the only think I could come up with.

The huge lump on his side is probably related to the cause of mortality and the snail-eating probably is not the COD.
