I agree about the Rustys, they are nicer in person definitely but still not that great. There are some nice specimens out there but they are not the norm.

I voted for yellow labs based on non-aggression and contrasting color but if you really don't want them I'd vote for the albino socolofi. They are certainly not murderous (mine aren't at least) & they give an excellent contrast in color to any other colors. Plus good quality ones have a slightly blue sheen to them so you'll get your blue too. :)

Yeah I really think I would be happiest with that combo. To be honest I don't even like the color yellow very much. I was going for contrast and I know there are not a lot of options for non blue mbuna.

EDIT: Those that have Snow white socolfis, where did you get them?

I got mine from Atlantis. I have some 4 month olds right now that I will be growing out to a sexable size so I can add a couple more females to my tank. I should have enough extras to make a decent breeding group & I believe them to be good quality.

Thanks I hope you will be able to ship them my way.

All the LFS in the area I checked today had a whole lot of nothing. I posted on the local cichlid forum but it seems most people there breed less common species (that's where my white top haras came from).

My snow whites are from bluegrassaquatics.

On line will probably be a lot smaller if you do give Eddie a shout out by phone and see if he has them in stock and tell him Mike told you to call, his number is on his site..

Ok I'll look into that.

I'm not too worried about the fish being small, especially if it save me some money :) I have a ton of baby haras swimming around and all the big fish ignore them. Even when I add small fish the big ones still ignore them.

Consider yourself lucky, Blue. I have a Fry Shredder (my dominant yellow lab) that even tried to swallow my 2 home raised rusties when they were almost 3/4" long. I could take them out of the tank and added them again when they were a little over 1" long. Now they are doing it great; but it was a miracle how they survived!
